Spring has sprung - and so has our taste buds! This week we're featuring a slightly spicy, vegan sauce to add a little 'spring' to your kitchen. This sauce/spread uses our Il Fusti Estate Olive Oil, to balance both heat and flavor. Try this on crackers and soft cheese or as a zesty sandwich spread.
Pit and peel avocado, dice it. Peel and chop the shallot, garlic clove, jalapeño, fresh basil and cilantro leaves. Put olive oil, avocado, jalapeño, garlic, and shallot in a bowl. Halve limes and squeeze them into a bowl with other ingredients. Cover the bowl and let the sauce stay at room temperature for 15 minutes. Put chopped basil and cilantro leaves into the sauce before serving. Add salt and pepper to taste.
